Our History

Hmedia was founded in 2000.

Like many other small IT companies founded in those days, we started with delivering web design. Meanwhile, we moved slightly to the backend. Software architecture and server-side implementations are the current focus of our jobs. On the other hand, modern software often integrates web front-ends. Therefore we are still up-to-date in the matter of web design.

During the first years, we worked as a partner for MDR and RBB, two members of the German TV network ARD. We designed newsroom workflows and solutions. We administrated an on-premise data center.

2004 · we started our cooperation with Avid, one of the leading companies in media and broadcast tools.

2007 · was the kick off for our own product development. Hmedia created a tools suite around the newsroom management system iNEWS.

2009 · gave us the chance to work with Alfresco – a Java-based, open source ECM system.

2013 · Andreas qualified as the Master Instructor for Avids ECM solution – the MediaCentral | Asset Management.

2017 · we created a spin-off of Hmedia to summarize the media creation under its own label – Hmedia Photo.

Today, we fill our days with all sorts of creative work, consultancy, and training.

We are experts in Alfresco ECM. We used this system in many projects and products. We support the OpenSource community by our own extensions and bug fixes for that software.
